Whoops! The website you were trying to get to seems to be missing... It's either hosted with ithought and being moved around, or someone cancelled their hosting and hasn't pointed their domain to a new server yet. Check back, or contact the website owner!

If you don't see a graph here and your website is down or you are having some trouble with other ithought services, there are bigger problems than just your site being down and I'm probably working on resolving it!

provider emergency maintenance 2/4 at 8am eastern

Wed, 03 Feb 2010 18:13:10 -0500

ithought's hosting provider will be conducting emergency network maintenance of one of their switches tomorrow morning at 8am which may cause up to 5 minutes of downtime. If you are unable to reach any of your services at this time, just check back a few minutes later! No e-mail will be lost because it is spooled offsite at a backup mail server whenever the primary mailserver is unavailable.

ithought quarterly update: Q4 2009

Fri, 01 Jan 2010 12:43:13 -0500

Q4 2009 was smooth sailing. No interruptions of service, and December was even quieter than usual for the holidays (thats the decrease in the numbers below).

  • 4 new shared hosting customers
  • 340GB of web traffic served on the primary webserver (10% decrease)
  • Average of 1.85 website requests per second (12% decrease)
Here's to continued slow and steady growth in 2010, and hopefully a few new servers!

mysql and PHP upgrades

Sun, 22 Nov 2009 01:00:52 -0500

Tonight, MySQL was upgraded everywhere from 5.0.70 to 5.0.84 and PHP was upgraded everywhere from 5.2.11 to 5.2.11-r1. There shouldn't be any noticable changes and the only downtime should have been a few seconds as each of the MySQL servers restarted.

mailserver software upgrade

Sun, 08 Nov 2009 10:28:27 -0500

The software on the mailserver has been upgrade to the most recent version of the Courier MTA. You may have experienced a brief period of being unable to check your e-mail and if you are still having issues, please restart your mail client. If that does not fix your problem, do not hesitate to get in touch with me

ithought quarterly update: Q3 2009

Thu, 01 Oct 2009 12:31:09 -0400

Q3 2009 could have been a little smoother, but the only major unplanned outage was due to a surprising hardware failure. Here is the stats update:

  • 6 new shared hosting customers
  • 380GB of web traffic served on the primary webserver (29% increase)
  • Average of 2.10 website requests per second (12% increase)

There isn't much else exciting to report at this point, other than the above facts. Growth is steady, there is still plenty ofheadroom on all hardware for more growth, and hopefully Q4 will be a quiet one! Remember, for each client you referr, you get a discount on your bill for as long as both of you are customers.

Wed, 23 Sep 2009 22:54:47 -0400

emergency maintenance was successful, and all ithought hardware is running on the new power management hardware. There were two outages between 10pm and now, totaling less than 15 minutes. my apologies for the outages, but we should be done for a long time

emergency maintenance: tonight 10PM

Wed, 23 Sep 2009 17:11:13 -0400

tonight at around 10PM eastern time, all systems will be down for what hopefully will be the last fix to the power handling equipment. I will update here when services are restored.

emergency maintenance complete: all services restored

Tue, 22 Sep 2009 22:41:09 -0400

emergency maintenance is complete but was unsuccessful because the new power equipment did not ship with a required adapter and this was not noticed until everything had been powered off. The new equipment is fully racked, so the next maintenance event will be a lot shorter and things should be back to normal after that
